The man, who has chosen to remain anonymous, bought his winning Quick Pick ticket at the Costcutter Express store in Phibsboro on 12 September.
"When I came into the Lotto HQ with my ticket, I genuinely thought that I would be told that I’d checked my ticket wrong or something and I didn’t win anything!" he told Dublin People newspaper.
