New details have emerged after Martha Nolan O'Slatarra, originally from Carlow, was found unconscious around midnight on August 5, onboard a boat at Montauk Yacht Club outside of New York.
She died shortly after, despite the efforts of passersby and emergency services.
According to the New York Post, Martha was meeting 60-year-old Christopher Durnan, who owned the yacht, on that night she died.
The man was well-known at the club and had also invested over €170,000 in Martha's swimwear brand East X East.
In the days after her death, photos of the boat emerged, in which white powder can be seen on the seats, per the Daily Mail.
A source revealed to the outlet that ‘she phoned her boyfriend and she told him she was just about to be picked up by an Uber. There is such a short timeline between when she made the call and when the 911 call was made'.
It was shortly after this call that emergency services rushed to the scene.
It has been confirmed that her boyfriend was not in Montauk on the night of her death.
Additionally, the source revealed that her cause of death is a suspected accidental drug overdose of cocaine or other narcotics.
The Carlow native moved to the US after graduating with a Master's Degree in Digital Marketing from UCD's Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School.
She set up her swimwear brand and received great success, and just this summer, secured a pop-up shop position at Gurney's, one of the most exclusive shops in the Hamptons.
