The teacher expressed her controversial opinion on TikTok.
The teacher, who goes by Ms3rdGrade on TikTok, said it isn't fair on the children's teachers.
She shared: "Diapers in kindergarten- this has been something that's been a conversation with fellow teachers for the past several weeks now. The amount of kids in diapers in kindergarten- I had no idea. The more I talk to some kindergarten friends, the more they tell me how many they have."
She said she isn't alone in her opinion with many teachers agreeing with her on this topic.
"I know I cannot be alone. I remember when my kids went to school your child had to be potty-trained before you could send them to kindergarten," she explained.
The teacher, who is based in Arkansas in America, said being potty-trained should be essential for preschool children.
She questioned why the legislation was ever changed in America.
"I am in the state of Arkansas, and I learned last night that in the state of Arkansas, it's not required. Why? Did that change? Why do we have so many five-and six-year-olds still in diapers?" she asked.
She stressed that this expectation does not include children with additional needs.
"I'm not talking about special needs [kids]. You kindergarten teachers that are dealing with this, bless your heart," she added.
Do you agree with the teacher or is she being unfair?
