The weather is going to pick up later this week

We'll be seeing a break from the rain this week. The weather last week was so changeable. One minute it was roasting hot, the next it was lashing rain and then to make matters worse a weather warning was issued by Met Eireann with winds of up to 90km/h expected. Thankfully it looks like we're through the worst of it but it's still going to be unsettled for the next few days before we get a well-deserved break from the wind and rain. According to Met Eireann, the rain will continue to develop in Munster this morning and will make its way through the rest of the country turning persistent and heavy at times with highs of 17 to 19 C expected. Then tonight there will be more rain, sometimes heavy, but will become drier over Atlantic coastal counties later on. Tuesday will have spells of rain in the East which could move into the west at times. However, Met Eireann says that chances of some areas staying dry are high including much of Connacht, western parts of Ulster and northwestern parts of Munster. Then comes the good news for Wednesday and Thursday with Met Eireann reporting mainly dry weather:

"Wednesday will be mainly dry countrywide with sunny spells. There may be just one or two light showers in Atlantic coastal counties. It will be rather warm with highest temperatures of 17 to 20 degrees and light southerly breezes, the breeze a little fresher along the coast. Thursday will start off mainly dry with sunny spells. However, rain will spread into Western parts during the day reaching the East in the evening or after dark. Highest temperatures of 18 to 21 degrees in moderate Southerly breezes."

Friday is looking to be alright for now with a mixture of sunshine and some shower.
