There’s going to be a dog parade in Dublin tomorrow and we’ll see you there, yeah?

The Stoneybatter Festival is taking place this weekend.

Back for the third year, there are going to be more than 120 events taking place across 56 different locations in the area.   But one of the most highly-anticipated events of the festival is Woofstock, the dog costume competition (and parade!) for 'paw-some' dogs. The parade begins at 12.30pm tomorrow from Stoneybatter Stone to the main stage on Manor Street. There will be plenty of prizes on the day, too, including the best dressed/groom dog; best dressed dog/owner combination and super dog. The organisers note:

"The highlight of this day is a canine fashion show featuring the ultimate in dog couture on our very own catwalk aka 'dog walk'!"

And while you have to register to enter your dog (click here for more information on how to do that), you don't have to register just to head along and look at all the adorable puppers. So we'll see you there, yeah? Looking towards what else is going to be happening at the Stoneybatter Festival this weekend, organisers said:

"Saturday 22nd June is an Open Day where local businesses, schools, museums, churches and even private homes will open to the public. Stoneybatter will be buzzing with sporting, environmental, culinary, literary and music events all day.

"Sunday, 23rd June will be the highlight: a Family Fun Day will see Stoneybatter & Manor Street pedestrianised from Arbour Hill to Kavanagh’s Public House – with music, dance, food, stalls, talks, tours, workshops and special activities aimed at children and young people.

"Back by popular demand, festival events will include Mrs Doyle’s Tea Party with Mrs Doyle herself, aka Pauline McLynn, and Woofstock - the best dressed dog competition."
