Trump pardons ex-aide Steve Bannon and Lil Wayne, not Joe Exotic

Donald Trump has pardoned over 100 people during his last full day as President of the United States. Trump, who was expected to grant clemency to a staggering number of people at the end of his term yesterday, dolled out pardons to 143 people including former aide Steve Bannon and rapper Lil Wayne. Bannon, Trump's key advisor during his 2016 presidential run, had been charged with swindling supporters to raise money to build the infamous wall on the US-Mexico border, while Lil Wayne was facing up to 10 years in prison for the illegal possession of a firearm. Others who received clemency yesterday include Republican party fundraiser Elliott Broidy, former mayor Kwame Kilpatrick, and rapper Kodak Black. To the dismay of many, Joe Exotic was not among those pardoned by Trump this week. The Tiger King star, who was the subject of most WhatsApp conversations at the beginning of the pandemic, is currently serving 22 years in prison for a number of charges. According to his private investigator Eric Love, the pair were certain that Exotic would be exonerated - so much so that they had a limo parked outside Joe's prison awaiting his release. "We’re going to be celebrating," Love, told Metro.co.uk. "We have good reason to believe it will come through. We’re confident enough we already have a limousine parked about half a mile from the prison. We are really in action mode right now. "I’ve got make-up, wardrobe, the whole unit that will come up. The first thing Joe wants to do, he wants his hair done. He hasn’t had his hair done in two-and-a-half years. That’s the first order of business. Then we’ll probably go and get some pizzas, steak, maybe a McRib." Exotic charges include falsifying wildlife records and violating the Endangered Species Act by killing five tiger cubs. He also faced federal charges for his role in a murder-for-hire plot against his Big Cat Rescue founder Carole Baskin.
