Many families in Laois spent last night away from their homes due to the flood waters. Temperatures of between 5 and 9 degrees are predicted for today, though they'll take a turn this evening. Met Éireann says tonight will be 'very cold' with widespread frost setting in after dark. It'll turn icy in some places, so motorists travelling tonight or early tomorrow should take care.
