A woman has died after falling from a boat into a lake in Fermanagh

Awful news.

A woman has died after falling from a boat into Lough Erne in County Fermanagh. The incident occurred in the early hours of Thursday morning, at approximately 1:20am. The PSNI have confirmed that the body of a woman, believed to be in her 30s, was found by emergency services during a search overnight.

A woman's body has been recovered from Lough Erne following an overnight search op. Reported to have fallen overboard from a boat at 1.20am.

According to Belfast Live, Inspector Gavin Sterling said:

"A full search operation was implemented and sadly a body was recovered from the water shortly before 3am this morning. An investigation into the circumstances is now underway and a post mortem examination is expected to be carried out. Local police would extend their sympathies to the family and would offer thanks to all of the agencies involved in the overnight operation."
