Pinterest recently confirmed the biggest wedding dress trends of the year so far, and there's one we've fallen head over heels in love with.

Pinterest revealed that the Basque waist wedding dress is the biggest trend of the year.

The Basque waist wedding dress is officially the breakout trend of the year, with a 200% search increase on Pinterest compared to last year.

Speaking about the rising trend, Ella Citron-Thompson, jewellery and trends expert at Diamonds Factory Ireland said:

"As seen on Milly Bobby Brown, a basque waist elegantly contours the waist into a V shape that dips below the waist, offering elegance, drama, and a fairytale feel to any wedding gown. 

"Many designers are embracing the trend by creating styles incorporating a cinched silhouette for a sculpted look, which shows no sign of stopping anytime soon.

Ella says it’s always important to pick your dress first, then jewellery second:

“Knowing the dress you’ll be wearing can help you understand what kind of bridal jewellery you’re looking for. Does your dress have a high neckline? We’d suggest avoiding a necklace and opting for a diamond tennis bracelet or pair of diamond earrings instead.

"Does your dress have long sleeves and a V or scoop neckline? Show off your décolletage with a stunning solitaire necklace. There are plenty of ways to make sure your jewellery pairs up with the style of your dress effortlessly, and the right jewellery can really take your gown to the next level."

Other trends rising in popularity with 2025 brides include corset dresses, short dresses, and lace gowns.
