Care to Wear Homemade Fondue Slippers? (Yes, You Read That Correctly)

Sick of having to lace up your shoes every day? Wish you had a more colourful form of footwear that you could customise? These fondue slippers are the answer. Made in Japan, the slippers are a thin replica of your foot, and are pretty much like wearing barefoot slip-on shoes. The product comes from the mind of Satsuki Ohata, the process is similar to a cheese fondue, hence the name. According to Domus; “Since it needs to be 200 to 300 degrees Celsius (392 to 572 degrees Fahrenheit) to harden the PVC, the designer used the mold of his of foot instead of his own foot, but he is developing a kit that enables people to make Fondue Slipper at home”. The finished product is quite colourful, though slightly bizarre looking. "You can wear Fondue Slipper both inside and outside" writes its creator Satsuki. "It can also be used as slipper by folding the heel, or you can wear it without folding the heel if you want to run". You can even customise your shoes, should you so wish! Handy slip on shoes!
