But people are switching out their leggings for roomy trousers and wide-leg jeans.

In particular it's Gen Z who are rejecting leggings, instead opting for Y2K-style silhouettes like slouchy cargo pants, which are being paired with tight-fitting tees and tank tops.

Leggings are being swapped out for voluminous trousers with a distinctly 90s/00s dance class vibe – think Save the Last Dance or Honey. They've quickly become a staple with people pairing them with baby tees or fitted tanks for a nostalgic throwback. Or with a sporty jacket for a modern edge.

Uncuffed sweatpants

Faded black jeans

Of course, blue denim is iconic, but black jeans are having a moment. And shoppers are choosing a faded, 'lived-in' style over a polished, slick black pair of jeans. They can elevate a simple outfit, whether its a white tee or tank, with a leather jacket to a "casual but intentional" look.
