This Kilkenny store creates engagement rings using the world’s oldest jewellery techniques

On the lookout for the perfect ring? Counting down the days to February 29? Well, if marriage is on your mind then this week's Curated With Cassie will be right up your street. On this week's show, Cassie Stokes headed to Kilkenny to meet the people behind one of Ireland's finest jewellery makers, Rudolf Heltzel. Creating bespoke rings that are crafted meticulously by hand using some of the the world’s oldest jewellery techniques, Rudolf Heltzel is one of the finest designers worldwide. In 1968 he established his own workshop in Kilkenny where he, his son Christopher and their employees and apprentices still work today. Here platinum, 18 carat gold and precious stones are worked into magnificent pieces of wearable art. Going behind the scenes to see the process of it all and find out exactly how much effort goes into making the perfect piece, Cassie headed down to Kilkenny to meet the team. And lucky for us, the jewellers were in the middle of making an engagement ring that looked like one you'd see in a Disney film. A ring that was fit for a fairytale. Speaking about their old-school techniques to create timeless pieces, Marins Giannikou from Rudolf Heltzel said:

"We want to keep history alive you know, this is what makes us different."

Aside from ring making, on this week's Curated With Cassie, Cassie got to fulfil one of her lifelong dreams... she made a pizza. Yep, but not any pizza, a Boca pizza, created with a state of the art French oven and the freshest ingredients, if you haven't treated yourself to one of these pies with a pint, you're missing out.
