Dreaming of a new kitchen in the new year?

You are not alone – kitchens tend to top our wish lists when it comes to what room in our home we would rather spend money on getting right. And for good reason, of course – after all, to most of us, it is the room we spend the most time in, and where family life tends to unfold. And if you are keen to make changes to your own kitchen soon, you might be keen to know what colour interior experts think is about to explode in popularity over the following months. Emily Henderson is a US interior stylist, author and TV personality with a whopping 747k followers on Instagram. She recently shared her latest project on her blog and when we say the kitchen is all sorts of amazing – we mean it. This is possibly the most gorgeous kitchen you have ever clapped eyes on. And the colour on everyone's lips right now? Pewter green.

The gorgeous green cabinet color pretty much has our retinas dilated extra far – and interior and lifestyle site MyDomaine.com went as far as predicting this to be the next big kitchen cabinet colour trend in 2019.

So what is this divine hue in question? According to Henderson, it's the Sherwin-Williams pewter green in the emerald satin enamel finish, which, clearly, is the most perfect combination of green, blue, and a hint of gray.

Henderson explains that the house called for something that was "original and special," and she wanted this kitchen to be the centerpiece of the home. "Everyone always seems to gather in their kitchen, and this was open to both the family and dining rooms, so my goal was to create a mix of classic and modern, happy and sophisticated, with some moments," she says. "I've done a lot of blue kitchens so I wanted to do something different here," says Henderson. After testing a million shades of green, the stylist and her team eventually landed on the pewter green. "I'm so happy with it," reveals Henderson. "It's deep, saturated, milky, and dramatic. It makes a quiet statement. It is a bold color without feeling bold, and it gives a lot of life to the room while keeping it timeless and traditional."
