Linen suits are the answer to chic office style this summer

As the temperatures rise and the days get warmer, one of the biggest challenges that faces us is what we wear to the office.

At this time of year, it always feels like everything we own is too bulky, too warm, or too thick to be able to wear when it's more than 20 degrees outside. While offices these days are a lot more casual than they once were, there's only so much we can get away with wearing without crossing a line. Summer dresses are usually the go-to but there are only so many we have before the washing starts to pile up and in hotter weather - and even t-shirts can feel restrictive. One fashion trend that has come in is the answer to all our workwear woes – let us introduce you to the linen suit. [caption id="attachment_580495" align="alignnone" width="854"] Credit: ASOS[/caption] Brunello Cucinelli and Max Mara have both brought these designs to their latest collections and they're already making an appearance on the high street. We're talking flowy, wide-leg trousers with a matching linen waistcoat, giving us just the right amount of class and comfort. Reiss has also released a pair of shorts in this style that are more than appropriate for the modern office. When it comes to the high street, the colours are endless with hot pink available on ASOS as well as the classic beige in Zara and a royal blue in Mango. [caption id="attachment_580494" align="alignnone" width="684"] Credit: Zara[/caption] Linen has a low thread count, lying between the 80-150 mark which makes it a much lighter material to wear, particularly in warmer climates. Thankfully, this makes it easier to layer too which comes in handy for our unpredictable Irish weather. Although linen is known to easily crease (not ideal for that big presentation or meeting), the benefits outweigh the negatives. With a more sustainable material being used and giving an elevated look to comfort, it will be a game changer in the warmer months.
