Add us as a preferred source on Google »It's a great day for those of us who were once obsessed with Joni Jeans, Kate Moss collaborations, and frilly socks as Topshop is reportedly returning to the high street.
Topshop was a fashion staple for the girls who adored Alexa Chung's style and now we may finally be able to return to the superior high street store.
ASOS sold the Topshop and Topman brands in a new joint venture with the holding company of Danish billionaire Anders Holch Povlsen.
The Heartland company will own 75% and ASOS will hold the remaining 25%.
ASOS has agreed to continue selling the Topshop and Topman brands on their site, but fans of the brand are hoping the move means Topshop's high-street stores will reopen again.
ASOS purchased the Topshop brand in 2021 after it went into administration after the collapse of Sir Philip Green's Arcadia empire
Pippa Stephens, senior apparel analyst at GlobalData, said: "ASOS' decision to enter into a joint venture with Heartland for Topshop and Topman provides potential for their return to relevance.
"The brands, previously owned by Arcadia, have been largely forgotten about by consumers since they were acquired by ASOS in 2021, as their ranges get lost among the thousands of products and other third-party brands available through the online pureplay."
"However, the relaunch of their own dedicated websites and increased accessibility through wholesale partners, both online and offline, should help to bolster their visibility and regain appeal," Pippa added.
We're very ready to relive our Tumblr eras once Topshop returns to the high street. Let's hope a Dublin shop opens or else we'll be considering flying to the UK solely to bulk buy frilly socks, indie-sleaze-inspired outfits, and that iconic Topshop lipstick.
