‘Difficult time’ Ant McPartlin to divorce his wife of 11 years, Lisa Armstrong

Rumour has been rife for some time now.

And on Saturday it was finally confirmed that Ant McPartlin and Lisa Armstrong are unfortunately divorcing. The pair have been married for 11 years and together for 23.

Ant’s spokesperson confirmed to the Sun On Sunday that the TV presenter was "very sad to announce" that he is ending his marriage.

It was added: "Ant asks for privacy at this difficult time, for both himself, Lisa and their immediate families. No further statement will be made."

The Sun On Sunday furthermore quotes a source who reveals that "this was a tough decision for Ant but he has to do the right thing for his health. "The marriage has effectively been struggling for eight months. He’s given it a good go." Ms Armstrong is head of makeup for BBC's Strictly Come Dancing. Ant is known for his high-profile presenting gigs including I'm A Celebrity and Britain's Got Talent. He is said to be worth around €70million. Mr McPartlin entered rehab last summer for addiction to painkillers and the pair have recently been living apart.
