Announcing pregnancies at Downton Abbey movie premieres seems to be their thing, as it was at the premiere of the first film that the couple announced they were expecting their first child.
Speaking about the possibility of a third film for the iconic franchise, Allen said: "I think so. I mean we love coming back together to do it.
"When we finished the show we thought that was it, ‘Goodbye, see ya.’ Then we did a movie and said, ‘Ok that’s it, goodbye, see ya.’ And now we’re back here again. If we just keep saying goodbye we could be back in 20 years doing a film every three years."
Allen isn't the only Downton Abbey star with some baby news, co-star Tuppence Middleton revealed at the premiere that she is also expecting her first child as she debuted her baby bump.
The latest film is set to see Allen's character Tom Branson and Tuppence's character Lucy Smith get married, as well as trying to uncover the mystery of the Dowager Countess’s newly inherited villa in the South of France.
