Prince Harry praises Netflix’s The Crown, says it’s “loosely based on truth”

He spoke honestly about the series during a recent interview.

Since it first arrived on Netflix in 2016, The Crown has been one of the most watched and talked about shows on the streaming platform. Over the years many spokespeople for the royal family have said that the show is completely inaccurate and a dishonest representation of the family and their history. One person who does not agree with this stance is Prince Harry himself, who recently said in an interview that while there is a lot added to the show for dramatic effect, the series also gets a lot of royal life right. During an interview with James Corden the Prince said;

"They don't pretend to be news, it’s fictional but it’s loosely based on the truth. Of course it’s not strictly accurate, but, loosely, it gives you a rough idea about what that lifestyle, what the pressures of putting duty and service above family and everything else, what can come from that."

This comes only days after an unearthed Vanity Fair interview with Harry's aunt, Princess Anne, showed that she supported his decision to resign his royal duties in favour of spending more time with his wife and children.

“I think it was probably easier for them, and I think most people would argue that there are downsides to having titles. So I think that was probably the right thing to do."

  Having spent his whole life in the limelight and tragically losing his mother when her car crashed trying to escape the paparazzi, Harry went on to say that he has fewer problems with the show and more with how he and his wife are portrayed in today's media;

"I am way more comfortable with The Crown than I am seeing the stories written about my family, or my wife or myself."
