The split isn't recent, with insiders claiming they have reportedly been broken up for "several months."
The couple was first seen in July 2023 after meeting on the set of Wicked. They made their relationship official on social media in November 2024.
Sources close to the pair told People that "the split is amicable."
"They gave lots of time and careful consideration and decided to go their separate ways," they said.
"They are still friends and very supportive of one another. They have been quietly broken up for several months", the insider confirmed.
It is understood that their relationship simply ran its course.
The source added that Ariana Grande is "doing great" and has been focused on her tour.
Fans noticed that Ethan was notably absent from Ariana's Eternal Sunshine tour, which kicked off on June 6th in Oakland, California. The singer will be touring multiple dates across the United States and the United Kingdom.
The breakup news comes right after the release of the singer's newest single hate that i made you love me, from her upcoming album petal.
Additional sources told TMZ that the album is not inspired by Ariana and Ethan's relationship.
"Our sources tell us Ariana's new album was not at all inspired by the breakup, nor is the music about her relationship with Ethan," they confirmed online.
Ariana Grande will release her eighth studio album on July 31st.
