Shirley has faced some criticism from fans this year for some of her judging decisions, which led many viewers to think that she was biased towards the male contestants.
Amidst the backlash, Shirley tweeted that she received "apologies" from people who left her "hurtful messages".
She said: "I have received many apologies over the weekend regarding hurtful messages I've received on social media. All apologies are accepted and from now on let's all respect each other and enjoy the show."
