Tyson Fury missed the birth of himself and Paris’ seventh child

Tyson Fury narrowly missed the birth of his seventh child.

The boxer's wife, Paris, gave birth to a baby boy on September 18th and he managed to miss his son's arrival into the world by mere hours. As it turns out, Tyson was so focused on an upcoming boxing match that when he thought his wife's labour was progressing slowly he decided to leave for training. The couple were prepared to wait until the next day to see the arrival of their little boy but as soon as the 35-year-old left things seemed to pick up speed. [caption id="attachment_589268" align="aligncenter" width="640"] Credit: Jeff Spicer/Getty[/caption] Prince Rico Paris Fury was born without his dad present but Paris had her mother by her side to act as her birthing partner. Speaking to OK! Magazine, the mum of seven opened up about her experience welcoming the latest addition to her already hectic household. "Usually he's there by my side, but he had to bail out on because he's fully immersed in to training at camp. He was there until a few hours before Rico was born,' she explained. "Things were going quite slowly, so it seemed like the baby wasn't going to come until the next day. Tyson left and my mum came in, she was my second birthing partner. His dad came in and saw him soon after." [caption id="attachment_589405" align="aligncenter" width="638"] Credit: Julian Finney/Getty Images[/caption] It seems like the World Heavyweight champion is making up for lost time as although he has been spending time away from his family at a training camp, he comes back to visit his wife and son. "My mum has been here and Tyson comes back every day, even though he's not supposed to! Things are strict when he's training. He’s not supposed to become mummy or baby-minded," Paris explained. The couple named their little boy Rico in tribute to Tyson's late cousin Rico Burton who was stabbed to death in August of last year.
