10 best rom-coms of the last 10 years

Today is the day for rom-coms.

There is never really a BAD day to watch some rom-coms, but if there is any day that you really should watch some rom-coms, then that day is February 14th. Unless you're single, in which case you're legally obligated to watch some horror movies. So if you are in the mood for some romantic comedies, we've put together this list of the ten best from the last decade, as well as where you can stream them all, starting with... THE BIG SICK (2017, Prime Video) Co-written and starring Kumail Nanjiani (Eternals, Welcome to Chippendales), telling the true story of the early days of his relationship with his wife (played by Zoe Kazan in the movie), who slips into a coma not long after they begin their relationship, forcing him to become better acquainted with her concerned parents (Holly Hunter and Ray Romano) on his own. BROS (2022, Rakuten TV/Google Play) Billy Eichner plays a gay man who has pretty much made his peace with being single forever, just as his dream man (Luke Macfarlane), another man who prides himself on his lack of responsibilities, enters his life. CHA CHA REAL SMOOTH (2022, Apple TV+) Written by, directed by and starring Cooper Raiff, who plays a man in his 30s who is struggling to find direction in his life. While working as a party host, he develops a new relationship with a young mother (Dakota Johnson) and a strong friendship with her teenage daughter. THE EDGE OF SEVENTEEN (2016, Netflix & Prime Video) A brilliant coming-of-age movie about a girl (Hailee Steinfeld) who has her life turned upside down when she discovers that her best friend is hooking up with her older brother. Along the way, she begins to form a unique friendship with her teacher (Woody Harrelson), and tries to deal with her feelings for one of her schoolmates. GOOD LUCK TO YOU, LEO GRANDE (2022, Prime Video) The always brilliant Emma Thompson plays an older woman who decides she hasn't lived her life to the fullest, hasn't experienced everything she wants to experience, so she hires an escort (Daryl McCormick) as an injection of some excitement. LAST CHRISTMAS (2019, Rakuten TV/Google Play) Maybe a little seasonal to be watching in February, but we don't make the rules of the rom-coms. Emilia Clarke is a down-on-her-luck employee at a year-long Christmas shop, but one day a handsome customer (Henry Golding) arrives and has a huge impact on her. Emma Thompson (again!), Michelle Yeoh and the music of Wham and George Michael also feature! LONG SHOT (2019, Prime Video) A hopeful Presidential candidate (Charlize Theron) hires her old school friend (Seth Rogen) to help put some fun and comedy into her political speeches, but along the way, the two of them begin to develop feelings for each other. But will this cause a political scandal before she even makes it to the White House? PALM SPRINGS (2020, Prime Video) Andy Samberg finds himself caught in a time loop, replaying the same day over and over again at an isolated hotel filled with wedding parties, but things take a turn when one of the other hotel guests (Cristin Milloti) also begins to experience the time loop along with him. SET IT UP (2018, Netflix) Two overworked assistants (Glen Powell and Zoey Deutch) decide to pair up their respective bosses (Lucy Liu and Taye Diggs) in an effort to make all of their lives easier. TRAINWRECK (2015, Rakuten TV/Google Play) Amy Schumer plays a journalist who has no time for long term relationships, more intent on just having fun as much as possible. All of that starts to fall away when she begins writing about a sports doctor (Bill Hader) and starts to fall for him in the process.
