A ‘Coronation Street’ legend could be returning to the show

This would be EPIC.

The drama on TV soaps would make you feel like a serious plain Jane. Soaps like Eastenders, Emmerdale, Hollyoaks or our absolute favourite Corrie leave us wishing we could spend every minute watching the affairs, scandal and troubles that plays out on our screens The wonderful, weird world of Coronation Street especially keeps us guessing, with old and new characters leaving and returning with the drop of a hat.

According to The Sun, one of the worst bad boys to ever visit Manchester's most famous cobbles may be returning to the street for good, in the form of Jim McDonald. Actor Charles Lawson, who played the character of troublesome Jim since 1989 has spoken out about making a major comeback to the long-running soap. The last we saw of Jim was locked up in prison, convicted for attempting to rob a bank. He shared a cell with fellow Corrie troublemaker Peter Barlow but according to reports, the Northern Irish lothario may be released from prison before his release date which is sometime in 2018. He spoke of his real-life friendship with actor Simon Gregson who plays his on-screen son Steve and the possibility of returning to the much-loved TV show.

"I speak to Simon [Gregson] every fortnight or every week in fact, and he always lets me know what’s going on and I believe there’s the possibility of something happening sort of over the winter time... "You don't bring Jim back just to have a pint in the Rovers. There's always something big. "There are rumours around that there might be something to do with something I can’t really discuss. Watch this space."

Considering Steve has been revealed as the father of Leanne Battersby's baby, Jim's ex-wife Liz is currently single and Peter Barlow is set to return to the street, it would only make sense that Jim should return, reclaim his estranged family and take his revenge against his ex-cellmate. But for now, we'll have to wait and hope with bated breath.
