An Irish actress has joined EastEnders as Jay Brown’s potential new love interest

You may have already seen her star alongside Jamie Dornan in The Fall.

Irish actress Tara Lee joined EastEnders this week and has caught the eye of the undertaker. She made her debut in the soap as Jessica Jones. The quirky character appeared on our screens when she applied to be Jay Brown's new house mate. Most of the 23-year-old's scenes will be with Jamie Borthwick who plays Jay Brown, and Perry Fenwick who stars as Billy Mitchell. The actress has spoken about how intense the filming process for the soap is. The Dublin native said she made a promise not to spill the beans on her new role. She told the Irish Mirror:

"EastEnders auditions are notoriously testing because you have to get there and they give you your scenes on the day - they have to be top secret with the script." "I got there, did a load of scenes and I can’t give anything really away about the character but I got really passionate about who she [Jessica] was and and I had some really good discussions with them." "I got a call about five days later that I got the part, I was really happy."

Having moved to London two years ago, Tara also said she didn't find it difficult to settle into her new work home in Walford. The actress has many strings to her bow. She is also a singer, a songwriter, and a producer.
