All The Bright Places is the latest addition to Netflix and viewers can’t stop crying

We're in bits.

Watching this when you're fragile on a Sunday evening probably isn't a good shout but we did it, and like a lot of Netflix fans who sat down to watch the drama that dropped at the weekend, we're now an emotional wreck. Based on the novel of the same name by Jennifer Niven, All The Bright Places looks at mental health and the traumatic impact that it can have on someone.

Here's a synopsis of the flick.

All The Bright Places tells the story of Violet Markey (Elle Fanning) and Theodore Finch (Justice Smith), who meet and change each other’s lives forever. As they struggle with the emotional and physical scars of their past, they come together, discovering that even the smallest places and moments can mean something. This compelling drama provides a refreshing and human take on the experience of mental illness, its impact on relationships, as well as the beauty and lasting impact of young love. And it's safe to say that people are "distraught" after watching the film even if they've read the novel, it seems as though the film hits hard again and there's no getting away from just how heartbreaking the tale is.

PSA: without giving away any spoilers we will let you know that All The Bright Places does touch on a lot of serious issues with a very difficult and upsetting ending and so, it's one to watch with caution. However, the movie features some beautiful quotes and moments of light and if you're in the need of a tearjerker, it'll certainly initiate the waterworks.
