Brooklyn Nine-Nine has OFFICIALLY been saved from cancellation

Brooklyn Nine-Nine is officially coming back for a season 6. Fans were shocked when it was announced this week that the series had been cancelled by Fox. There had been some speculation that it would end up on Hulu, the streaming service that owns the SVOD rights. But barely a day after the cop sitcom was axed, NBC stepped in to save the day - and gave the show a 13-episode season six. The network announced the news on social media, writing:

"We got your SIX! #Brooklyn99 is officially coming to NBC!"

According to Entertainment Weekly, NBC Entertainment's Chairman Robert Greenblatt said in a statement:

"Ever since we sold this show to Fox I've regretted letting it get away, and it's high time it came back to its rightful home.

"Mike Schur, Dan Goor, and Andy Samberg grew up on NBC and we're all thrilled that one of the smartest, funniest, and best cast comedies in a long time will take its place in our comedy line-up.

"I speak for everyone at NBC, here's to the Nine-Nine!"
