Coronation Street confirms Gail Rodwell’s fate after her exit this summer

Coronation Street has finally confirmed Gail Rodwell's fate after she left the cobbles earlier this summer.

The character slipped out of Weatherfield back in July, when tensions in the Platt family hit an all-time high after the truth about Audrey's stolen money came to light. And as Nick and David kept clashing after they were arrested for breaching their bail conditions, Gail was devastated by the way things had turned out - and became convinced her family wanted nothing more to do with her. She was last seen on-screen hopping onto a plane to Thailand. However, Coronation Street's Saturday Sneak Peeks have revealed she will be back sooner than later.

The long-running soap's weekly preview images show Gail comforting her granddaughter, Bethany, as the two of them sit in the Platt family home. The other photos show Gemma Winter and Chesney Brown's trip to Wales, where Gemma will reportedly go into labour while in a cable car. And there seems to be a bit of tension between Fiz and Jade, the teaching assistant who will help tutor Hope, if the other sneak peeks are anything to go by. The fourth photo shows Brooke Vincent, who plays Sophie Webster, saying goodbye to the role as she gets ready to go on maternity leave. ,
