McGlynn also disputed the rumours on Twitter, referencing her cervical cancer storyline which has seen Sinead become an integral part of the show this year. "I have not 'quit' Corrie, I am contracted well into this year and am fully committed to our long-running storyline," she said. "We do not know the outcome as of yet, which is how we like it!"
A source previously said that McGlynn had quit the soap and that she will "will need replacing urgently."
They added: “Katie has just been nominated for a British Soap Award so it’s a big loss and not what bosses would have wanted to hear."
This came after at least five other Coronation Street stars decided to call quits on the cobbles this year.
Among them were Lucy Fallon, Faye Brookes, Connie Hyde, Kym Marsh and Bhavna Limbachia.
