Corrie’s Mikey North hints at downward spiral for Gary Windass

Coronation Street's Mikey North has hinted at a downward spiral for his character, Gary Windass.

The builder, who was the mastermind between the Underworld roof collapse earlier this year, will soon set his sights on both Ali and Adam. An upcoming storyline will see him determined to take revenge on Adam, who is currently going out with his ex Sarah Platt, after the lawyer starts looking into his dodgy dealings. And Ali will find himself a target after Gary starts to fall for Maria. "Gary is losing the plot a little bit," he explained. "He is unstable and out of control so whatever he gets up to next, nothing would surprise me." He added that the romance between Gary and Maria Connor may be doomed before it even properly begins. "It will be interesting to see whether or not Gary and Maria are with the wrong people," he said. "Maybe Gary does want to be with Sarah and Maria does want to be with Ali, that may be the thing but time will tell." However, he promised that the pair have "got a lot of stuff to come". "It will be interesting to see whether this is going to alienate Maria from the street as Gary is not the most popular person right now," he said. "He does mean well with Maria and he loves his kids, he’s not all bad!”
