Dec Donnelly tells Lisa Armstrong to ‘be strong’ during difficult split from Ant

The TV host has apparently reached out.

Dec Donnelly is said to have gotten in touch with Ant McPartlin’s estranged wife, Lisa Armstrong, to offer her support. The 42-year-old reportedly sent a text to his work partner’s ex for the first time since the pair split in January, saying:

“You know where I am if you need to talk. Be strong.”

The news comes as Lisa faces an increasingly difficult time with media attention reaching an all-time high. The makeup artist is now living in Los Angeles after news that Ant has moved on with former PA Anne-Marie Corbett was revealed in recent weeks. The situation is said to have left close friends of the former couple, especially Dec, struggling to figure out what to do.

“He (Dec) doesn’t know what to do for the best,” a source told The Sun. "He’s not been in contact with Lisa since she and Ant split but decided he had to reach out after Ant’s new romance was revealed. “He doesn’t want any ill-feeling. He’s in such a difficult position especially with things getting more ugly.”

Reports also say that Dec’s olive branch worked with him and Lisa now in contact again after months of silence.
