Demi Lovato just unfollowed some of her closest celebrity mates on Instagram

And fans are confused.

Demi Lovato looks to be doing an Instagram cull, unfollowing a number of her celebrity friends over the last few days. The singer has unfollowed childhood friend and tour buddy Nick Jonas on Instagram recently as well as longtime friend, Selena Gomez. However, Demi is still following Nick’s brothers Joe and Kevin as well as his parents so fans are very curious as to why she’s decided to rid Nick from her feed. The unfollowing of Selena may be less surprising to fans who would have known that Selena unfollowed her at the beginning of the year. According to reports, Demi also unfollowed Iggy Azalea who she has become increasingly close with in recent years. Sources close to the singer say her Instagram cull is to help “avoid any difficult relationships”.

“She needs to surround herself with those that support her goals and to stay away from any negativity,” a source told ET. “Demi has come a very long way. She’s grown emotionally and matured a great deal through this process. “She realises there is no quick fix and has accepted the fact she needs to take this one day at a time. “She still has a sober companion and she has built a very strong support group.”
