Ed Sheeran reveals the real reason he took a year long break

Ed Sheeran has answered the question we've all been wanting to know - why exactly he took a year off.

He has always said that it was because he wanted to tour the world as a tourist rather than as an artist so that he could finally see it properly. This is probably still true to a certain extent but he's after revealing the real reason why he took the year off. He told The Project in Australia that he wanted a break so that he would get a better reaction from people when he released new music. He felt that they were getting bored of him. He said:

"I just felt like everything I did, I got a very lukewarm reaction by the end of it.

I was like here's a new song. And people were like, 'ah, great.'"

Speaking about his return he said:

"But you disappear for a year and then people are kind of hungry for it again.

But I'm sure I'll get to the end of this campaign and people will be like 'yeah, cool.'"
