Everyone was in bits over the last ever episode of Catastrophe last night

A perfect way to end it all, tbh.

Catastrophe is a great show. In fact, it's an excellent show. If you haven't watched it yet or, God forbid, have never even heard of it, please do yourself a solid and go on the All4 app and binge the shit out of it. It's class. Starring Rob Delaney (as Rob) and Sharon Horgan (as Sharon), the comedy follows the two after Sharon gets pregnant when Rob is on a business trip to London. The lads decide to give things a go and (spoilers) end up randomly starting a family together. The show is a comedy so, naturally, hilarity ensues as the pair struggle to navigate life as parents to young kids when they really haven't got very much of a clue of how to look after themselves. Catastrophe's final episode aired last night, and although there were an abundance of gas moments, there was also heartache and genuinely upsetting moments as the show paid tribute to the late Carrie Fisher. Fisher, who passed away in late 2016, played Rob's mother in the show. She only appear in a few episodes but her absence was very much felt in the programme following her passing. Catastrophe dedicated an episode to Fisher's memory in season three, but last night they gave her the proper send of she deserved - in the form of Rob laying into Mike Pence in her name. She would've loved it. The scene included Rob saying goodbye to his mother at her beach funeral and reading an anti-Pence email she had sent her friend before passing away. It read: "I heard about these babies, their spines are like corkscrews but once they have these surgeries, it's beautiful. "I wouldn't have to do it at all if the government gave a rat's ass about disabled kids. They'd be happy to throw them out the window. "I bet Mike Pence spends his Sundays throwing disabled kids out of windows. Looks like he would, that f*cking microwaved-apple looking ass motherf*cker." Just beautiful.
