YES! We have an official start date for season two of Derry Girls

Finally.

When season one of Derry Girls first arrived onto our screens we instantly fell in love. It was a show we needed and tuned in week after week to see what Erin and the gang would get up to. It's safe to say we were all delighted when season 2 got the green light... and now we finally know when it'll be back on telly. YES. The news was confirmed by Nicola Coughlan and we are so ready. 5 March, 9.15 pm, Channel 4 and yes of course, we're cancelling plans for that evening.

Meanwhile, Tommy Tiernan who plays Da Gerry in the show told Ian Dempsey on Today FM: "We finished filming the second series last Friday. "That will go out in March and we're doing Season 3 and film, maybe. That's all up to Lisa (McGee) the writer, going off to a shed in London and coming up with all these stories. She's a genius, the amount of stories she's able to fit into each episode. It's fantastic." We. Can't. Wait.
