The first look at season two of Netflix’s Mindhunter is finally here

The first look at the next season of Netflix's Mindhunter is finally here.

The highly anticipated, nine-episode season two will officially land on the streaming service on August 16.  And while there's still a little while to go yet, Netflix have released  a number of new images from the season two. Season two of the series will focus on Holden Ford and Bill Tench meeting infamous murderer and cult leader, Charles Manson. After creating a commune in California, Manson's followers committed a series of nine murders at four locations in July and August 1969. In 1971, he was convicted of first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit murder for the deaths of seven people, all of which members of the group carried out at his instruction.

Manson was also convicted of first-degree murder for two other deaths. He died at the age of 83 in prison.

    Elsewhere, Manson devotee Tex Watson and The Son of Sam, David Berkowitz, are expected to also be interviewed by Holden and Bill in the new season. The preview photos show Jonathan Groff, Holy McCallany, Anna Torv are all back at the main trio at the FBI’s criminal profiling unit.     The official summary for Mindhunter season two reads:

"FBI agents Holden Ford and Bill Tench probe further into the psyches of those who have done the unthinkable. "With help from psychologist Wendy Carr, they apply their groundbreaking behavioral analysis to hunting notorious serial killers."
