And while many have suggested the actress’ lack of interest in the show is down to the violent storylines it's become known for in recent months, Sally says that’s not the case.
“The dark storylines happened when I was there. We got 20 million viewers doing it with Richard, and that was gruesome.”
Addressing the negative feedback the show has gotten from viewers as of late, Sally says there will always be people who don’t like that type of content.
“People will always moan – it’s too violent or it’s not violent as it should be.
“If people didn’t want it, they wouldn’t make it. So, there’s obviously a need for it.”
Sally left Corrie back in 2006 after a highly talked-about storyline where her character Shelley was being abused by her controlling partner, Charlie Stubbs.
