The first frozen film was a massive box office hit, winning two Oscars and making a whopping $1.82 billion since its release in 2013. Its sequel, Frozen 2, took in $272 million in its first week alone.
The films feature the voices of Kristen Bell and Idina Menzel as sisters Elsa and Anna.
While it looks like Olaf won't be making his return to Arendelle any time soon, Gad will be voicing the fan favourite character for a new Disney+ series titled Olaf Presents, in which Olaf "goes from snowman to showman" as he retells five Disney classic stories.
The stories include Aladdin, The Lion King, and The Little Mermaid and Olaf will play all of the parts in the recreations.
Gad said that he was both shocked and grateful to still be playing Olaf eight years on.
"I certainly never imagined the shelf life that this character and these characters would continue to have. I think that there's something just hopeful and optimistic about Olaf that connects with people.
"He's a sort of a representation of glass half full at a time when it seems to be very easy to look at things with a glass-half-empty approach."
The series will be available to stream on Disney+ from 12 November.
