The Great British Bake Off winner has been revealed and we are delighted

Great to see it.

That's it, we're done, it's all over - Rahul has been crowned the winner of The Great British Bake Off 2018 and we can all get back to our mundane lives. That involves not worrying about soggy bottoms and Paul Hollywood handshakes and whether or not Noel's shirt is going to be extra jazzy this week. The announcement we'd all been waiting for was made this evening after the three remaining finalists battled their way through their final week in the tent. And yeah, great to see it, to be honest. A donut signature, a campfire technical, and a smashing (oi oi) show stopper left the three bakers in absolute bits as they tried desperately to keep their cool in a tent that looked like it was about 31 degrees and climbing. And then suddenly, with the shake of a hand and the handing over of a decorative cake stand, it was all over. Rahul's landscape showstopper had impressed the judges enough to allow him to be crowned this year's winner. It's been a long 10 weeks in the tent. There's been collapsing cakes, intense anxiety, and a lot of tears as week-by-week, the bakers were whittled down until just Rahul, Ruby, and Kim-Joy remained. They've made bread, they've baked cakes, and they've struggled through the show's first ever vegan week - a theme that did not go down well with Paul and several other men who are adamant that cakes need butter and eggs, damnit. Irrespective of this, it's been a success and we're already getting pretty hyped for next year, tbh. Mary Berry who?
