Add us as a preferred source on Google »Yet the question is, if we were to switch places with Emily, how much money would we need to live her day-to-day life?
She does seem to have a very good job with Savoir but even then she seems to take a lot of time off, just look at the trip she took to Saint Tropez.
So let's get into it.
When we first met Emily, she was working as a brand manager before she was promoted to senior brand manager.
Well according to Glassdoor, the average salary for this job is between €50,000 for her starting position and €56,000 for the senior role.
When you factor in that Emily is handling some very high-end clients, we can safely assume she would be making a bit more annually so we'll put her on the higher end of things and say she makes €72,000.
On top of this, she becomes a part-time influencer as she documents her travels and even manages to snag a few brand deals along the way.
On average, an influencer in Paris makes about €32,000 to €45,000 so well say with her marketing skills she makes about €37,000 extra bringing her annual salary to €109,000.
Nothing to sneeze at!
Emily lives in a gorgeous fifth-floor apartment in the Place de l’Estrapade of Paris’ Fifth arrondissement neighbourhood.
In other words, she lives very centrally, near the Seine River and surrounded by all the things you think of when you think of Paris like coffee shops and smoggy restaurants.
For a very similar apartment in the same area, the monthly rent is €1,330 a month, honestly not far off the prices in Dublin.
A fully furnished apartment, like Emily’s, usually comes with Internet, but tenants are responsible for electricity and gas.
Housing Anywhere estimates that the average cost per month for electricity in France is €79 and gas is €70.
While we're here we might as well throw in her phone bill, she is an influencer after all.
No doubt she'll want a decent plan and according to Culture Travel that'll be an extra €20 a month.
So if we say that most months are 30 days, it costs Emily roughly €50 a day in bills.
In season two, Emily starts attending a few French classes. A school like L’Atelier 9 in Paris has an evening course that costs €460 for 12 weeks so there goes another few hundred.
After class, she's most likely to run over to Gabriel’s restaurant, Terra Nera, for something to eat.
Since she knows the chef she might get a discount but for the sake of this made-up situation we'll say she pays full price, for a steak and a glass of red wine.
According to the menu of the real Terra Nera, if she was to order steak and a glass of red wine, it would cost her about €40.
Remember she visits this restaurant very often she'd be running up quite the bill after a while.
Yet Emily's real spending is on her impressive wardrobe. Even for a causal evening with friends, she's often seen wearing thousands of euros worth of designer labels.
From her €3,477 Paco Rabanne Gradient Chainmail Midi Dress and €1,292 Maison Skorpios all the way to her €4,027 Dinh Van ring, the girl knows how to spend.
Emily makes more than enough money to live comfortably in Paris but the girl needs to curb her shopping addiction.
