Jennifer Aniston weighs in on THAT Joey-Rachel Friends fan theory

We guess that settles it.

Jennifer Aniston has weighed in on the Friends fan theory that Rachel and Joey should have ended up together. Joey and Rachel ended up developing feelings for each other in season eight of Friends, and were caught in a 'will they, won't they' idea of a proper relationship until season ten. But the pair eventually decided they weren't right for each other - before Ross and Rachel got back together once and for all. A 100 tweet thread claiming that Joey and Rachel should have made another attempt at a relationship and actually ended up together went viral this month.    And whether or not people agreed with what it said, it's safe to say it's impossible to look at Friends the same way. But in a recent interview with Elle, Jennifer completely shut down the theory - insisting Ross and Rachel were meant for each other.

She said:

“No! No, no. “They tried! I think there was a moment when Joey and Rachel got together that maybe it could happened, but it didn’t. "It was Ross and Rachel all the way. I really believe that if there’s an afterworld of Friends, they’re still thriving. Don’t you? “I just don’t think Joey and Rachel could have made it. "I think it was more physical than emotional with them. "They were friends with benefits, and they left it at that.”
