JK Rowling Reveals The Advice She Gave Alan Rickman Before He Took On The Role Of Severus Snape

Many the Harry Potter fan has a soft spot for Severus Snape, partly because he was such a complex character. Not the easiest character to play, before his death Alan Rickman revealed that he had a secret about Snape, disclosed to him by J K Rowling, author of the Harry Potter series. Rickman said it wasn't a secret he would ever discuss but that it made him "travel down that road rather than that one or that one or that one". However, J K Rowling herself revealed the secret during a Twitter exchange with a fan yesterday. Sarah asked: "Will you tell us the piece of information that you told Alan Rickman about Severus Snape?" and the author replied:, "I told Alan what lies behind the word 'always'". As Potter fans will know, that word is of huge importance in the final book, when Snape reveals that he was always in love with Harry's mother Lily.
