Katharine McPhee announces engagement to David Foster in sassy post

Congratulations are in order.

Katharine McPhee has confirmed that she and music producer David Foster are engaged. The former American Idol winner confirmed the news through her rep Leslie Sloan, however, later took to Instagram to share the announcement herself. Sharing a gif of Ariana Grande, Katharine simply captioned the sassy post with the engagement ring emoji and left it at that.

Later, the singer shared more information about the proposal, posting a screenshot of texts sent to a friend where she discussed the proposal. Katharine, 34, revealed that 68-year-old David popped the question while the pair were on holiday in Italy recently.

“He did it at the top of this mountain in Anacapri. Totally dark, only stars," she said. “Thankfully he didn’t push me off the cliff. He said it was one or the other. "And in the end he spared me.”

The pair first sparked rumours that they were seeing each other in September of last year after David’s daughter, actress Erin Foster, shared a picture of them, saying:

“Excited about my new stepmom.”

This will be Katharine’s second marriage after she split from Nick Cokas in 2016. And it will be wedding number five for David who most recently was married to Gigi and Bella Hadid’s mother, Yolanda.
