Line Of Duty season six to begin on BBC One on March 21

Series creator Jed Mercurio recently paid tribute to the entire cast and crew for their efforts filming the season during the pandemic. He said: "#LineofDuty6 We couldn't have done it without the dedication of cast, crew and supporting artistes to rigorous Covid safety.

Shooting resumed in September under Covid-19 safety guidelines. BBC confirmed that Line Of Duty would be returning in the spring last year. In a tweet, they wrote: "Returning favourites on TV in the period up to the end of March include His Dark Materials, Doctor Who, Line Of Duty and Call The Midwife, alongside Top Gear, Great British Sewing Bee, The Repair Shop, and RuPaul’s Drag Race UK." Series regulars Martin Compston (DS Steve Arnott), Adrian Dunbar (Superintendent Ted Hastings) and Vicky McClure (DI Kate Fleming) will all return for the newest season. They expressed their excitement about returning to set last year. Dunbar said: "Even with the imposition of Covid restrictions I can't hide my excitement at getting the team back together. So many people wondering... what happens next?" Along with them will be new additions to the Anti-Corruption-12 force, Shalom Brune-Franklin as Chloe and Kelly Macdonald as Detective Chief Inspector Joanne Davidson. Season six will see the latter investigate a suspicious unsolved murder case that has drawn the attention of the AC unit. Line Of Duty season six airs of BBC One on March 21 at 9pm.
