Louis Theroux has a new 4-part series coming to the BBC all about, well, Louis

It's a Louis Theroux documentary about Louis Theroux!

Sort of. This four-part documentary series is called Life on The Edge and it will look back on his own 25 years of exploring different subcultures around the world. So it's pretty much Louis and a whole load of extra footage. We'll get to see never-before-seen clips and moments from all of his most famous episodes. We'll be revisiting everything from his recent look at postpartum psychosis to his visits to the Westborough Baptist Church families. Life on The Edge will give us a good reminder of the different topics Louis has delved into, such as mental health, rape culture, poverty, drugs, and so many more. Speaking about the series, Louis said:

"For years I've wanted to go back and make sense of the programmes I've made, find out what happened to some of the contributors, update their stories, and see what all these many hours of making TV might add up to. "Lockdown gave me the time and space to do this. It's been a strange and fascinating couple of months working on this, and especially fun to dig through old episodes of Weird Weekends - programmes I made in the mid-90s, when the world was a different place. "I'm really proud of what we've been able to do with this new series. I think we've been able to make the whole add up to more than the sum of the parts and to bring out surprising themes and commonalities. And, if nothing else, it was an interesting review of how my haircuts and glasses have changed over the years."

We are particularly excited to see those extra clips from Weird Weekends and, yes, also to see Louis's hairstyles and glasses styles through the years. BBC has not yet announced the release date for the series but we already know this is going to be unmissable.
