The spin-off of the popular reality dating series will welcome back Islanders of all ages from the last 10 seasons for a second (or third) time, in the hopes of finding lasting love.
This may not be the cast's first rodeo, but show bosses plan to shake up the format to make sure to keep the Islanders and viewers all on their toes.
At the midway point in each series, the boys and girls are separated, with one group whisked away to the Casa Amor, and a host of new Islanders descend on the two villas.
Casa Amor is described as the 'ultimate test' for contestants who claim to be committed to their couple.
While this show staple has been axed, producers have planned several twists and turns that they are keeping under wraps to maintain the element of surprise.
Love Island’s Executive Producer, Mike Spencer, told The Mirror: "We have got to be reactive. These islanders have done it all before so we have to be one step ahead of them. This gives us the chance to shake it up and bring new islanders into the mix in new ways.
"We have four hidden single beds in the lounge, so make of that what you will."
This time around, the show will run for five weeks instead of the typical eight-week format, making it one of the shortest series in Love Island history - which is another reason why show bosses opted to axe Casa Amor.
"Casa Amor, as we know and love it, doesn’t really work for a five week run because you need time to bed in, get to know each other, see if they are for you and if you want to switch it up," Mike told the outlet.
"I think you don’t need the element of bringing a massive influx of new islanders in. That is good for an eight week run but you don’t need it for this. This is going to be more intense and people will fall for each other quicker."
Love Island starts at 9pm on Monday, January 15th on Virgin Media Two and Virgin Media Player.
