Matilda The Musical is coming to Dublin

The Bord Gáis Energy Theatre has just announced a new show and we are very excited. Matilda The Musical, from the Royal Shakespeare Company, will come to the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre from Wednesday 4th to Saturday 28th of April, 2018 as part of the UK and Ireland tour in 2018-2019. Inspired by Roald Dahl’s beloved book, Matilda, the musical tells the story of an extraordinary little girl who, armed with a vivid imagination and a sharp mind, dares to take a stand and change her own destiny. Winning 85 international awards, including 16 for Best Musical, the Royal Shakespeare Company’s touring production of Matilda the Musical will open at Bord Gáis Energy Theatre on Wed April 4th 2018 in what will be one of the biggest theatrical events of 2018. Dennis Kelly, the writer of the show, has said:

“It’s been a long time coming but I’m delighted that we get to take Matilda around the UK and to Ireland. We have some fantastic theatres in this country and in Ireland, supported by smart, engaged audiences and we can’t wait to bring this crazy, messy, anarchic explosion of a show to them.”
