MIC’s Ollie Locke is facing criticism from animal rights groups

They are furious with him.

Made in Chelsea's Ollie Locke is the latest celebrity to join Bear Grylls on The Island. As part of the show each celebrity has to live in the wild and fend for themselves, including finding food. For Ollie's episode he had to kill a crocodile and because of this he is facing backlash from animal rights groups. A representative from International Animal Rescue told The Sun, "it is totally unacceptable to kill or abuse animals for entertainment." Furthermore, they believe that he would not have had the proper training to be able to kill the animal in a 'humane' way. According to Digital Spy, they want the show to be pulled from the schedule. Channel 4 issued the following statement on the matter:

"The premise of the series, in aid of Stand Up to Cancer, is to see if when stripped of all the conveniences of modern life, celebrities have what it takes to survive and feeding themselves is a fundamental part of this.

"Those on the island all received training on how to kill animals humanely and this was utilised properly in each instance."
