New Girl stars have finally addressed those reunion rumours

The New Girl cast is speaking out about returning to the screen

It's one of those shows that I'll never get tired of but many fans are eager for the show to return to the screen.

I'm pretty satisfied with the heap of episodes we have to re-watch but viewers have been calling on the cast to reunite for some time.

The final episode of New Girl aired in 2018, but could we see the cast reunite sometime soon?

Actors Jake Johnson, Lamorne Morris, Max Greenfield, and Damon Wayans Jr. reunited for an interview with People this month and finally addressed the possibility of more New Girl episodes.

The actors said they'd love to return but it's all down to series creator Elizabeth Meriweather.

Lamore Morris joked: "To be quite honest with you, from day one, I’ve been the one saying that I want it to happen.

He joked: "They don’t even respond in the text when I put it in there."

Jake Johnson, who plays Nick Miller, quipped, "Here’s the reality. This dude’s an idiot. He spent his entire Emmy campaign dragging me, and then we were laughing. None of us have any power about a reunion. But I think we all would if the right thing came, it’s really fun to be together."

Max Greenfield said they'd definitely be interested if Elizabeth Meriweather was involved.

"We get asked so many questions about the show and ‘What about a reunion?’ And none of it is up to us.

"It’s so much about Liz Meriwether who created the show and what she would do differently and how she would direct the show and if she would want to do a reunion. So I think it’s her decision and how she would want to move forward," the actor said.

For now, we'll continue re-watching old episodes of New Girl.
