Nine giant Harry Potter wands are going to be touring Ireland and the UK

Nine giant Harry Potter wands are going to be going on tour around Ireland and the UK.

The installation was first set up along the walkway between Millennium Bridge and St. Paul's Cathedral last year in the lead up to Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald.  Each one represents one of the key characters from the wizarding world- from Voldemort to Newt Scamander - and stands at 15ft tall. They will be illuminated at night, where they will perform a light show to music from the Harry Potter or Fantastic Beasts franchise. The display was put together in partnership with the City of London Arts Initiative in an effort to raise awareness of J.K. Rowling's charity, Lumos. [caption id="attachment_452252" align="alignnone" width="1600"] The wands lit up in London last October[/caption] Now, it has been announced that the display will be going on tour to spread the magic around various locations across the UK and Ireland. In the lead up to the DVD release of Fantastic Beasts 2, Harry Potter fans have been invited to vote for the next cities and towns in the UK and Ireland to host the magical display. Voting is currently open, with the selection going to be narrowed down to eight finalists on March 18. The winning locations will host the installation in the lead up the release of the third Fantastic Beasts film. You can find out more information here. It comes as the Harry Potter studio tour in London announced an enchanting new addition. The London-based home of all things related to J.K. Rowling's world of witchcraft and wizardry will be throwing open the doors to a Diagon Alley staple in April. Harry Potter fans will be able to walk through the towering marble pillars and into the grand banking hall, "decorated with three magnificent crystal chandeliers and finished with real brass leaf.
