One of the best movies of the 21st century is on TV tonight

As a conductor and trailblazer in her field, the devoted prodigy leads the way in the male-dominated classical music industry.

While juggling work and family, Lydia prepares for the release of her memoir. On top of that, she is about to take up one of her most strenuous challenges yet: a live recording of Gustav Mahler's Symphony No. 5.

However, life starts catching up to Lydia as forces that even a high-handed conductor can't control slowly start taking a toll on Lydia's elaborate facade, revealing the genius's rather dirty secrets and the biting nature of power.

Tár has racked up various awards, such as Film of the Year at the London Critics’ Circle Film Awards and was voted Best Picture of the Year 2022 at the National Society of Film Critics, as well as being nominated for six Academy Awards.

Director Todd Field won Best Director at the Boston Society of Film Critics Awards for Tár in 2022, as well as being named Best Director according to the London Film Critics’ Circle for Tár.
